Work Experience

Brittney started working as an after-school caregiver and summer day camp counselor when she was in high school. Her love of math was born in the 5th grade. She questioned everything as she went on to study math through high school and college. While getting her Bachelor of Science degree, Brittney worked in classrooms and as a private tutor. As graduation came, she got a job working as a middle school math teacher. Her classes were over 30 students large. Brittney quickly realized that she could not even spend 2 minutes with each individual student in a day.

Soon after that experience, she was able to become a fulltime tutor at Mathnasium. Working with 2nd-12th grade students, she was enjoyed giving each student help, but even then, students' time was split between others who needed help. While working at Mathnasium, Brittney also took a job as a math tutor at Ivy Tech, working with college students. She liked working with higher level math as well, yet still she struggled splitting her time between students. Brittney soon became the Center Director at Mathnasim, creating lessons, evaluating students, and working with parents to create learning plans. She loved helping students to succeed, but her office work took her away from teaching more often than not. Eventually, Brittney took a job as a banker, teaching adults about finances and helping them navigate the confusing banking world. While working there, she kept doing private tutoring and tutoring through ClubZ.

In 2019, Brittney had her first son. She was ready to do the two things she really loved, teaching math and being a mom. She worked for ClubZ tutoring, Gear-Up tutoring inside of Warren Central High School, Tutor.com, and still did private tutoring through the pandemic. Now, Brittney is well loved in the Hamilton Southeastern and surrounding school districts. She is working with home school students, private school students, public school students, and college students, giving them the individualized help they need to be successful in math.

"I have seen classrooms of 30 students. I have seen a pandemic. I know teachers who speak over the heads of their students. I know math can seem hard, but I also know with practice, clarity, and effort math does not have to be impossible."
